Simply insert the appropriate collet; turn the nut to expand it until it takes good hold of the inner bearing race; and slide the hammer’s weight towards the handle to knock out the bearing. For more delicate work, the galvanized U-shaped counterstay can be fixed and tightened to slowly pull your bearing out of place.
